Om Björnbärsspader
Blackberry Spades is the classic Spades card game, played on an oak stump beside a bramble hedge. Sloe the hazel dormouse sits across from you as your partner; Bryony the magpie and Burdock the toad are your rivals. Every card is drawn in the game, from the robin Jacks to the stag Kings.
Spades is a partnership game of promises: before each hand you say how many tricks you will take, and your team must make both bids together. Bid too little and you collect bags, too much and you are set. Play to 250 or 500 against Easy, Medium or Hard, or try the Daily deal: the same cards for everyone each day.
Så spelar du
- Each hand everyone gets 13 cards. Starting left of the dealer, each player bids the tricks they expect to take, from 1 to 13, or Nil.
- The first bidder leads. Follow the suit that was led if you can; if not, play any card. The highest spade wins the trick, otherwise the highest card of the led suit. Spades can't be led until one has been played, unless you hold only spades.
- Your team's contract is your bid plus Sloe's. Make it and score 10 per trick bid plus 1 per extra trick; miss it and lose 10 per trick bid. Every extra trick is a bag, and 10 bags cost 100 points.
- Nil means you promise to take no tricks at all: +100 if you manage it, -100 if you take one. A nil bidder's tricks don't count for the partner's bid and are bags.
- The first team to 250 (or 500) wins; a team at -200 loses. Your score grows by your team's points each hand times 1, 2 or 3 for the level, plus 200 times the level for a win. You have 3 blackberries: losing a game costs one, winning brings one back.

- Tangentbord
- Click a card to play it, or pick one with the left and right arrows and press Space. To bid, type a number (0 is Nil) or use the arrows, then Enter. H hints, L shows the last trick, T opens the Daily deal, N starts a new game.

- Tap a bid, then the Bid button. Tap a card to lift it, then tap it again or flick it up to play. Tap the table to hurry a trick along.
Tips
- Count aces, guarded kings and every spade past the third as tricks; when unsure, bid one less, since a set costs far more than a bag.
- Once your contract is made, duck under the winning card to dodge bags, unless the other team is one trick from being set.
- A short side suit turns small spades into winners: lead it early to run out of it, then trump.
- When Sloe bids Nil, play high cards early in each trick and overtake any trick Sloe is about to win.
